Dear Friend,

After a year’s worth of hard work 16 organizers graduated from our WILD program ready to take on more fights for justice in their communities. Also, CSTI is four months away. Have you saved the dates in your calendar? Finally, we want to welcome four new members to the Western States Center family.

In Solidarity,
YW sig

WILDcongratsWe wrapped up our WILD (Western Institute for Organizing and Leadership Development) class of 2009 - 2010 with a graduation ceremony, dinner and karaoke performances at the end of February. But we all know that the work doesn’t stop there! Our grads are already back in their communities, putting WILD skills into action making change. Read more about what two WILD graduates, Tiffany McClain of Alaska and Maria Moreno of Idaho, have been up to.

CSTI logoThis year marks 20 Years of CSTI (Community Strategic Training Initiative)! It will be one you won't want to miss, with special speakers and celebratory events. Registration will open in late May. Please check our website often for updates on this year's program. Click here to read about last year’s event.

WalidahThe Center is excited to welcome Walidah Imarisha to our staff as our new Organizer and Trainer. She will join us on March 29. We are also happy to have two new board members, Leslie Griep from Oregon and Terry Kendrick from Montana; and a Special Events Intern, Sheri Englert. Go to our staff and board pages to read more about them.

Building long-term strategies for progressive social change requires resources. Together, we know that we can make a difference. Donate today!
