Dr. Kenya Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Social Work at the University of Houston-Downtown and has more than 30 years of experience as a social work practitioner and anti-racist trainer. Dr. Johnson is also the Founder and Co-Owner of Full Circle Strategies, a Black-owned women led firm of racial equity facilitators and strategists. She holds a PhD in social work and her scholarship and community work focuses on anti-racist organizational change, leadership development, assessing workplace culture and implementing metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of race equity initiatives. Dr. Johnson's professional background also includes work in youth civic engagement, education equity, environmental justice, and electoral campaigns. Prior to moving to Texas, Kenya lived in Nevada where she trained to be an anti-racist facilitator with WSC and Race Forward while serving as board member and President at the Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada (PLAN).
